Critical Input

Parameters Checklist

When setting up your building geometry in AERMOD One, ensure these inputs are verified.

  • Building Tier Coordinates: Precise X and Y polygon vertices for every structural tier.
  • Stack Parameters: Exact stack height, inside diameter, exit velocity, and exit temperature.
Building Downwash

BPIPPRM without rebuilding the model

Once buildings and applicable point sources exist in the project, AERMOD One already has the geometry required by BPIPPRM.

Click once. The complete downwash workflow runs internally.

01
Fetch project geometry

Sources and buildings are read directly from the project.

02
Build BPIPPRM input

Required processor files are generated automatically.

03
Run BPIPPRM

The processor executes within the workflow.

04
Update AERMOD

Downwash parameters are transferred directly into the AERMOD model configuration.

Troubleshooting

High Concentrations

If your model output shows unexpected pollutant spikes, review these common modeling pitfalls.

  • Stack Proximity Check: Ensure stacks aren't incorrectly coded inside the 5L wake threshold limit.
  • Overlapping Polygons: Verify adjacent building tiers do not overlap and falsely create massive blocks.
  • GEP Stack Height Caps: Remember physical height above GEP limits is capped for downwash credit.
