Odour Modelling in AERMOD One

Odour Modelling in AERMOD One

Introducing the Odour Modelling Workflow in AERMOD One

Streamline your environmental assessments with AERMOD One’s new integrated workflow. Easily configure dispersion runs, apply specific odour criteria, and evaluate results—all within a single, unified platform.

Odour Mode configures key requirements for the hourly dispersion run, including one-hour averaging, concentration output and hourly post-processing files. After the model run, Odour Post-Processing applies the selected criterion, percentile and peak-to-mean method to the stored hourly results.

Users can review receptor-level assessment results, including hours above and frequency, generate an odour contour and include an Odour Assessment section in the report when the required outputs are available.

The workflow also supports multiple peak-to-mean methods, source classification for the source-type-by-stability table method, optional calm-hour and multi-year settings, and a separate low-wind sensitivity option.

A key workflow benefit is the separation between dispersion modelling and assessment post-processing. When only the criterion, percentile or peak-to-mean method changes, users can reassess existing hourly files without rerunning AERMOD. A new model run is required when the underlying model inputs change.

Criterion presets are intended as starting points. Users should confirm the current jurisdictional guidance, select appropriate inputs and methods, and document any relevant limitations before reporting.
